Metabolic Myth Buster: No, You DON’T Want a “Faster” Metabolism…
Hey, it’s Dr. Jade Teta here.
After personally training thousands of men and women, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard someone blame their metabolism for their weight problems.
They say, “If only I had a FASTER metabolism. THEN I could lose weight.”
Obviously, they’re not alone. Tons of people take extreme measures to speed up their metabolism… like running for hours a day, taking harsh “fat burners,” or doing cold plunges.
And those measures DEFINITELY work to speed up the metabolism. The only problem is…
For many people, a faster metabolism can turn you into an insatiable eating machine.
And that excessive drive to eat, eat, eat overcompensates for the calories that a juiced-up metabolism burns.
So you end up gaining weight anyway.
The reality is, you don’t want a FASTER metabolism. You want a FLEXIBLE metabolism.
Your metabolism is an adaptive, reactive system. It’s always measuring — and reacting — to your internal and external environment… like what you eat, how you move (or don’t move), your stress levels, how much sleep you get, and so on.
A rigid metabolism does not respond well to change. For example, if you change your diet, it may under-react with weight gain… or over-react with excess hunger.
But a flexible metabolism creates energy consistently no matter what. For example, if you suddenly decided to fast for 24 hours, it would compensate quickly. It would burn more fat to keep your energy steady, and it would modulate hunger and cravings.
A flexible metabolism also helps you respond to stress better. It helps keep your immune system strong, regardless of your internal or external environment. And, it allows you to enjoy the foods you love.
So how do you get a flexible metabolism?
That’s exactly what I’ll show you in the video lesson below.
Remember, the most EFFECTIVE thing you can do to boost immunity is to strengthen your metabolism, because your metabolism POWERS your immune system.
