The Simple 4-Step Process for Breaking a Sugar Addiction

I’m not ashamed to admit… I am a recovering sugar addict.
I used to be terrible. And of course, as a naturopath and nutritionist, I knew excess sugar is a destructive force in the body.
That probably isn’t news to you, either. You probably know how excess sugar spikes your blood sugar… which releases floods of insulin (the “storage” hormone)… which then leads to fat gain, insulin resistance, and a host of “lifestyle” diseases from there.
All those problems put extra stress on your immune system, too… so it’s basically trying to fight microbes and viruses with one hand tied behind its back.
Not to mention it’s just not fun being on the blood-sugar rollercoaster… where you’re high one minute and “hangry” the next.
So, I did what most everyone else does. I tried to rely on discipline and willpower. I told myself, “I’m not gonna eat dessert. I’m NOT gonna eat dessert.”
But if you’ve ever tried to go “cold turkey,” you know what happens. You make it a few days… and then you wake up on the floor, surrounded by empty ice cream cartons. I would go on weeklong binges where I ate nothing but dessert.
In science, we call this willpower-based approach “avoidance therapy.”
Avoidance therapy is like… don’t think of a white elephant. So, if I tell you, “Just don’t eat chocolate,” your brain does this weird (and totally unfair) loop where it makes you want chocolate more.
That goes for anything you’re trying to avoid. But if you’re trying to break a sweet tooth specifically, it’s even harder. Because you’re fighting evolution.
Our “caveman” brains are hard-wired for sugar addiction. (I explain why in the video.) So forcing yourself to ignore your cravings isn’t just stressful… it simply won’t work.
The good news is, I did find a simple, 4-step solution that won’t break your brain in the process. It does take some time. But it’s gentle and effective and worth it. Because now, I can take a few bites of dessert and feel satisfied. Sometimes, I don’t even want it.

Remember, the most EFFECTIVE thing you can do to boost immunity is to strengthen your metabolism, because your metabolism POWERS your immune system.
And sugar is a destructive force that whacks out your metabolism and tears down your immune system. But please, don’t just go “cold turkey” and try to white-knuckle your way through a no-sugar diet…
A gentler approach is more effective. Use my process in the video to train your brain to simply not want sugar and dessert. It’s powerful stuff!
